Mauricio Milani Rua better known as Shogun is the winner of the PRIDE Fighting Championships' 2005 Middleweight (205lb) Grand Prix. He holds notable wins over Ricardo Arona, Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, Quinton Jackson and Alistair Overeem. Shogun is known for his aggressive fighting style, but has mastered both his striking skills and a well developed ground game. Rua has exhibited noted ability with his kicks and stomps against grounded opponents. MMAWeekly.com currently ranks Rua as the #1 light heavyweight in the world. After his fight with Quinton Jackson, Rampage has gone on record stating that Shogun is the best fighter he has ever fought. He was on the verge of greatness in Pride, in the UFC he just might dominate.
